Cancer Endeavors
Your source for wigs, eyelashes, lotions and supplies.

This site is designed for women living with cancer.  Unlike other
sites, we're here to help you find the support you want and what
ever supplies you'll need to help you get through your illness.
Created by one who's been there, I'd like to help you...
As a ten year cancer survivor of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, I remember all to well
what it felt like to be diagnosed with cancer. The fear that kicked in wondering if you
would be able to beat the disease or if it would beat you and you would die were
overwhelming. The scary part back then was that I didn't have anywhere to turn for
information. Sure I could read book after book but it wasn't the same as having a
person to turn to who had already gone through it themselves and could give me
reassurance that I could handle whatever was thrown at me. Someone who could tell
me what the tests would be like, how I might react to the treatments and how I could
expect to feel would have been a blessing to me. For ten years now, I have thought
about putting this site together just to give anyone who is now in the place that I once
was, some hope. As this site grows, I will be adding as much information as I can to
arm you with whatever you may need to help you get through your cancer. I will also
be listing companies that I've purchased supplies like wigs, hats, scarves etc. from,
to give you the one place for you to go to make your life as easy as possible during
this time.  So check out the site, and save it to your favorites, because I really do
believe that you'll want to visit here again. :)
Don't rule anything out!

You're going through a tough time right now.
"Take time for yourself!!" It's critical. You
can't tackle an illness if you just aren't feeling
good about yourself. Find something that
will relax you. Listen to calming music. Take
up yoga. I haven't tried that yet, but I hear it
works great. I can recommend going for a
Reiki session if you can find one in your
area. They are wonderful at removing stress
from your body (and mind).  Soak in a nice
hot tub filled with scented water. Learn to
meditate. It's the quiet time we're looking
for. Just you and your thoughts. Keep telling
yourself you can get through this. That you
WILL get through this! I went to a healing
service at one of the local churches. It was
difficult for me to ask for help, but they
prayed over me and told me to "BELIEVE"
and to this very day that word is so strong in
my mind. So BELIEVE that you will get
better! Find a new age shop that carries
candles geared towards healing. Light them
and see yourself getting better, healthier,
stronger. Your mind is a powerful tool. It can
convince the body to do amazing things.
Don't pass on an idea just because you
don't know about it, or because it's not
something you would normally do. Having
cancer is not something you would normally
have in your body and there's a fight going
on, I was willing to try anything no matter
how off the wall it was. Maybe it was one
thing, or a combination of all of them, or just
my strong belief that I could beat my cancer,
but I tried those things, and I'm hear to talk
about it!! That's what's important!
Words of advice:

When you're about to go to your doctors
options, I recommend that you either bring
someone along with you or you bring a
tape recorder. There just may be a
moment when you're sitting there listening
to what they have to say, and your brain
shuts down and you suddenly stop hearing
what the doctor is telling you. It happened
to me. My mind refused to take in
anymore of what he was saying. From that
moment on I learned about my cancer
from reading about it. There are a great
many books out there covering the
subject. They can be a wealth of
information. And information is POWER!!
Learn about your illness. Don't believe that
the doctors are going to tell you everything
because they won't! The radiologist I went
to didn't even have my personal
information correct. This wasn't even
realized until I needed to pick up copies of
my records to transfer to another doctors
office. I couldn't believe how far off they
were. They just didn't care. My point to you
is, please find a doctor that you like. One
When you're about to go to your doctors
you feel comfortable with. They can make
office to discuss your treatments or this
whole ordeal easier to deal with.  If you
feel like you're in good hands, than you'll
be able to concentrate on healing.

My recommendations to you would be this:

Eat
- Just because your ill, doesn't mean that you
have to give up living. Yes there are certain things
that you might want to work into your diet that will
help your healing process along, but hey, don't go
nuts. You still have to be happy. Eat what you like,
just do it in moderation. Food is good for the soul!!

Laugh- A lot!! They say laughter is the best
medicine, and they aren't kidding. Go out and rent
as many funny movies as you want. It doesn't even
matter if you've seen them before, if you like them,
then get them.

Sleep- Your body is going to be tired. More than
you can imagine. You might be sitting there one
minute just fine and the next you won't be able to
keep your eyes open. So get plenty of rest.

Keep Your Hopes Up-  Tackle each day with the
"Bring it on" attitude. Believe it or not, that will help
you feel stronger.

Talk About Your Illness- Don't keep it bottled up
inside you. Find someone you can talk to. If you
can't find someone at your doctors office or a
family or friend, then write to me. I won't care if you
email me several times a day. I'll answer you! You
can create your own support group right here! You
might be able to help someone else who might be
going through the same thing you are. Wouldn't
that be great!

Avoid To Much Stress- Stress kills, no doubt
about it. So just tell yourself that you're not dealing
with that today, and move on to positive thinking.
